The first book, 'The Bourne Identity', in short, is about a man named Jason Bourne who gets amnesia and loses his memory and wakes up after being fished out of the Mediterranean Sea. Then, with the help of many people, he slowly learns that he is an assassin named Jason Bourne. Through many complex schemes and attempts to kill him, from both his enemies and his own government, he survives. He also traps Carlos, the deadliest assassin in Europe, and almost killed him. The book ends with him learning that he his actually David Webb, an agent working as a counter assassin for the American government. Jason Bourne never killed anyone and was merely a myth to trap Carlos.
